At PaizoCon 2010 I ran a one-shot superhero game using the Pathfinder RPG rules, drawing heavily on the Strikeforce: Morituri comic book series from Marvel. The short version of the premise of the comic books is that an alien fleet has come to Earth and is having sport by raiding factories and finished goods from the planet, and a human researcher has found a way to imprint humans with superpowers... but at the cost of a maximum lifespan of 1 year from the time of imprinting, after which the subject dramatically explodes.

The game was basically a way for me to fiddle with the rules a bit and create "superhero" characters built on the chassis of 6th-level characters, and instead of giving them magic items I gave them customized powers that (in terms of magic item prices) added up to about the gear of a 6th-level character. And, because I'm goofy, I named all six characters after a color, devised a theme based on that color, and powers based on that theme. Thus: Black Widower, Blue Meanie, Green Hornet, Orange Julius, Red Menace, and Yellow Fever. These are those superhero PCs.

Spider Climb You can cling to walls and even ceilings like an insect. You must have your hands free to climb in this manner. You do not need to make Climb checks to traverse a vertical or horizontal surface (even upside down). You retain your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class while climbing, and opponents get no special bonus to their attacks against you while you are climbing.
Sticky Webbing At will, you can shoot sticky webbing at one target within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. If you hit, the creature is entangled. An entangled creature takes a Š2 penalty on attack rolls and a Š4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed. Huge or larger creatures are generally unaffected by this ability.

Raised in New Delhi, you once worked as a tech support specialist for Microsoft. When the aliens attacked, your wife and daughter were killed. With nothing left to live for, you joined the Strikeforce as a demon of vengeance, hoping to destroy the alien invaders.

You were traveling in Argentina when the aliens destroyed London (killing your mother and over 100,000 other people), and out of guilt you joined Strikeforce.

Fluid Body Your entire body is a thick, frothy, orange fluid, sort of like liquid latex. You're slightly sticky when you want to be. You're also delicious!

Fiery Presence At the start of your turn, you may ignite your starting square, leaving a burning area that deals 3d6 points of damage to anyone who passes through that square (Reflex negates DC 14). The burning area extinguishes itself at the start of your next turn.
Flyby Attack When flying, you can take a move action and another standard action at any point during the move. You cannot take a second move action during a round when you make a flyby attack.

Born in the slums of Rio, you escaped poverty by becoming a rainforest guide for tourists. When the aliens attacked, you saw news footage of the destruction they caused to forests and mountains in Europe. Wanting to protect M‹e Terra from these invaders, you joined the Strikeforce team.
